Bridge is one of the most popular English card games. The trick taking game is particularly popular among families and as a tournament game. Two teams of two play against one another with a deck of 52 cards.
The trick taking value of the cards in descending order is as follows: A K Q J 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2.
The value of the suits during the bidding, in ascending order, is as follows: Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades and No Trump.
Players must follow suit in Bridge. Each player receives 13 cards. The dealer then begins the auction. Once the auction has been completed, and the number of tricks and the trump suit have been determined, the game itself commences. The aim of the game is for the team with the declarer to achieve the declared number of tricks. The other team must prevent this by taking the tricks instead.
