GameTwist

Hearts is a card game for 4 players. Players play for themselves as there are no teams. A deck consisting of 52 cards is used. There is no trump card and the sequence of cards goes from 2, with the lowest value, to Aces as the highest card.

Each player begins with a hand of 13 cards and must pick out 3 unwanted cards before the round starts. Once each player has selected 3 cards, they must pass them over to an opponent. Players pass their 3 unwanted cards to the player on their left in the first round. The direction in which cards are passed is swapped with each consecutive round -  to the right in the second round, to the left in the third round and so on. This continues until the game comes to an end.

As the player with the lowest penalty score wins, the goal of the game is to have as few hearts in the tricks won as possible (as heart cards attract higher penalties than other suits) and to avoid winning tricks containing the queen of spades (which attracts the highest penalty in the game). Additionally, players should aim not to exceed the agreed point limit in each round.
