Schnapsen is one of the most popular Austrian card games. Two players play with the Ace, 10, King, Queen and Jack of four suits - a total of 20 cards in descending order of value.
At the start of the game each player receives 5 cards. The top card of the deck is turned over and this determines the trump suit. The remaining cards in the deck are positioned in the middle of the table. Both players start with 7 counters, which they must reduce to 0 over the course of the game in order to win. The first player to reach 66 points or take the last trick wins the round.
