Looking for a black and white duel? It’s right here. Reversello is a simple board game with a large entertainment factor. You play your opponent stone for stone while looking to corner them in.
Who will be able to buy themselves breathing space? Anyone who thinks ahead and has prepared the right strategy. Will black or white win in the end? All good questions that will only be answered if you accept the challenge.
The aim of the game is to encircle your opponent’s stones so that they become your own and you dominate the game board.
In this game there are always 2 to 4 players competing against each other. The game is played in real time. You can find details on multiplayer versions here: How do multiplayer games work?
The stake is determined when opening a new game.
The board of Reversello consists of a grid of 8 x 8 fields. Chance determines whether you will play with white or black tiles at the start. 2 stones of each colour already lay in the middle of the board at the beginning of the game.
The game is controlled with the mouse. If you would like to place a new stone, simply click on the field where you want to place it. One stone may be placed per turn.
Both players take it in turns to surround the opponent's stones by skilfully placing their stones in the fields. It is possible to encircle the opponent's stones in different directions, horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Once you manage to drive opposing stones into a corner, they change colour and therefore become your stones. A counter at the bottom of the game board shows how many pieces of each colour are currently on the board. If a player has no way to encircle an opponent's stone, they miss a go and it is the opponent’s turn again.
End of the game
The game ends when it is no longer possible for someone to move or no empty fields on the board are left. The number of stones decides the winner. The player who is able to convert the most stones into their colour, wins the game.
