Are you looking for more action and speed when playing Yatzy? Do you want to take the fate of the dice into your own hands? Then Yatzy Live is just right for you.
The popular dice game is going into the next round. While hunting Full House, Straight and 2 of a Kind 3 jokers are coming along. Use them skillfully and you will be the champion in the end.
Like with regular Yatzy Live the aim of the game is to collect as many points as possible with 5 dice. Roll as many matching numbers as possible and keep an eye on the special dice combinations, which will bring you extra points.
In this game there are always 2 to 4 players competing against each other. The game is played in real time. You can find details on multiplayer versions here: How do multiplayer games work?
Contrary to the regular Yatzy game with this version you don't have to wait for your opponents to roll the dice. In addition Yatzy Live will be played in 3 rounds.
When you start a new game the number of players and the stakes have to be determined. The playing field is divided in a chart where the points will be entered and an area for rolling the dice.
Every player has a column in the chart, which will be marked with a particular colour. The sums of matching numbers rolled will be entered into the first 6 rows. The lower section of the chart contains rows reserved for different dice combinations.
Yatzy Live will be controlled with the mouse. If you click the 'Roll' button the dice will be shaken. You have 3 attempts per game move but you don't have to use them all. After every roll you can decide whether you want to attempt the next roll with all the dice or just one.
To move a dice to the edge of the playing field and drop it there you click on it with the left mouse button. You have to keep the button pressed until you have moved it to the desired position.
After the third roll of the dice you can decide whether you want to use one of the 3 jokers. With the help of the joker you can turn the dice last rolled to your advantage.
At the end of the move your point score will be entered into the chart. All rows, which are available to you are marked in colour. You can decide with a click of your mouse where your result will be counted. The current number of points can only be entered into an empty field.
If you are unlucky with one of your moves and you don't have any useful results until the end you have to delete a row in the chart. No more points can be entered there until the end of the game.
End of the game
The game is over after 3 rounds in which the chart has to be filled in completely. The player, who has collected the most points is the winner.
Different numbers of points are awarded for the numbers rolled as well as additional dice combinations:
Scoring according to numbers
- Numbers from 1 to 6
The amount of matching numbers will be entered into the upper section of the chart. The relevant numbers rolled will be multiplied by the number of dice. For example, if you roll '5' 4 times you will receive 20 points.
You can also earn a bonus. If you achieve 63 points in the upper section of the chart you will receive an additional 35 points.
